Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman, the Distinguished Professor of Psychology and Director of Center for Public Policy Research is at University of California Davis. Her name is often credited for initiating the contemporary research into the study of eyewitness memory and child victim witnesses within lawful contexts. Professor Goodman publishes widely has received several grants and has been honored with numerous international and national prizes. She has worked with various organizations and government officials across the world on policies and research concerning children as victims within the legal system. She is a consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly known as Multidisciplinary Interview Center - of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a fellow of many professional organizations including those of the Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Traumatic Stress and Women 56). She is a founding member of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research into Child Development as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman has served as president of The American Psychological Association's Developmental Division, as well as three Divisions: the Child and Family Practice and Policy Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
